How Rani Laxmi Bai overcomes the many obstacles in her life.

 

2.

The Unjust British Rule over India.

 

3.

Doctrine of Lapse - how it gobbled up kingdoms.

 

4.

The Battle of 1857 - The First War of Independence.

 

5.

How in death the Rani was victorious over her foes.

Methodology

Step - I:  The causes of the Revolt of 1857 (A brief outline to be given by the educator).

Step - II:  Heroes of the Revolt of 1857.

Step - III: Kingdoms affected by the Doctrine of Lapse (through Map to be shown).

Step - IV: "The Bride of Eleven", a story dealing with exemplary childhood of Manikarnika (to be read out in the class).

Step - V: A picture will be presented and a poem will be recited by the educator (Khub ladi mardani ….).

Step - VI: Discussion and question answer session.

Step - VII:  A picture will be projected on the OHP and the students will describe the scene in their own words in written form.  Students will be broken into groups, they will discuss the picture and present a report in fron of their class.

Step - VIII:  The students along with their educators.  Will enact out certain scenes from the Rani's life.

Step - IX: Giving out worksheets.

Project

Compare Rani Laxmi Bai with any other contemporary women leader.
